The Rays' Ballet in the Lagoons

This is the time of the year when rays in Polynesian lagoons start their fascinating ballets near the passes. An islands' unfogettable spectacle, with those of Moorea and Bora Bora to start with. For a few years now, it has become much easier to come close to the rays that easily let you pet them.

September the 18th - 28th

FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup

After having conquered Europe, America and Asia, the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup has chosen Tahiti for this 7th edition. The 2013 World Cup brings the top-notch beach soccer festival to the Tahua Toata stadium in Tahiti as well as the first ever ever official FIFA senior tournament to be held in French Polynesia.

September the 21st

Painapo Raid - 12º edition

This big raid presents itself in a new shape, now famous in the whole world, reserved to high level athletes, whether professional or amateur. Organizers also want to give their event a more familiar character by creating a "light" competition to attract a greater number of participants who will be able to compete amongst pineapple plantations in Tahiti's sister island of Moorea. The race is run by three-person teams and is dedicated to environmental preservation.

September the 27th

World Tourism Day

A day celebrated with ostentation each year in Tahiti, probably more than elsewhere. A little everywhere throughout the other islands big events take place to celebrate a landmark date. Hotels and pensions participate by organizing specific shows and entertainment events.
