Bora Bora

Undoubtedly the most famous island in all Polynesia, Bora Bora is surprisingly small, but it has beauty to compensate what it lacks in size. Many say that, simply put, Bora Bora is straightly the most beautiful island in the world. Its name, which means "First One" or "First Born" is given by legend to the supposed first island out of the sea.

Bora Bora's first glance is always everything but forgettable, no matter if you are arriving by sea or by air. The lagoon's variety of lighter and darker blues mixed with its greenish islet ring and the dense foliage of its inner jungle altogether makes the island's combination of colors and abrupt landscape truly unbelievable.

Bora Bora is for sure the most mythical of all the islands in the Pacific, and is still the one everyone dreams about, by which it's difficult to find the precise words to describe its magic. Mount Otemanu acts like a silent watchman from the island's center, abruptly emerging and looking out from the island's heights. The lagoon is a real natural pool where you can practice virtually any kind of watersports, from scuba diving to glass bottom boat sailing.

The other main attractions include the Lagoonarium, a visit to Vaitape, the picturesque and most important town in the isle, or an excursion to see the cannons that the american GIs abandoned here during World War II, now claimed by the jungle.

Bora Bora is an experience for the senses, from the moment you arrive at the airport to see it ending just a few feet before the beginning of the lagoon, until you leave and the only thing you can do is think about when you are going to be back in the Pearl of the Pacific.
